Steve Moore (USA / Great Britain)
Telling you who I am is hard because all in all I’m just a guy who loves racing, pushing my limits, and teaching others to do the same.

Growing up in the foothills outside of Yosemite gave me an appreciation for the outdoors and for the protection of nature. Endurance sports began with full day canoeing and rafting trips just for fun until a friend signed us up for a 50 mile rafting race, where we placed first, and I was hooked.

Over the years I have participated in dozens of different sports and taken on many challenges including 15 years of Monte Carlo style car rallying with dozens of first place finishes in the expert/pro division, former pro wind surfer and sail boat racer; I’ve participated in numerous marathons, ultra-marathons, century (100 mile) road bike races, SCUBA trips, multi-day backpacking trips, multi-day canoeing trips, one day crossings of Grand Canyon, and one day ascents of Mt Whitney to name just a few.

Pushing yourself physically, meta-physically, and mentally has always been a goal of mine.  This philosophy was pushed to the extreme test this year by participating in two expedition length races and we loved every minute of it.  My teammates and I pulled each other thru the highs and the lows you get from multi-discipline racing, an average of 23 hours a day, for five days straight, just like best friends and a good team should.  The other thing that I love about our sport is doing things and going to places seldom seen by the average person and getting to tell everyone I know about each and everyone of these wonderful locations and how to do them and how to get there.

I’m not very disciplined about documenting the races that I have participated in however since I primarily race with my friends Barrie and Kristine, and the recent teaming up with Mayte, and Jamie, I am proud to say that I have been there with them for most of their accomplishments, averaging an event a month for the past four years.

In my spare time I work as a Director of Application Development, Electronic Document Imaging, and Help Desk (a long title for a computer geek) and my wife has a long list of things for me to do around the house.
